Time for a light jacket in the evenings.

September 2, 2011 § Leave a comment

Ah, September again, and the air is cooling down. It seems like the beginning, and the end, and the beginning of an end, and a beginning to so much more.

It is time to bid adieu to my first year in New York and to summer with all of its humidity and carefree attitude; it is time to say hello to my first substantial and steady paying design gigs, to my final semester (for a while, anyhow) of 21 years of continuous schooling, to the aroma of autumn, and the life of the once-again single. I get to look forward to motion graphics and web design and meeting new designers, meeting more runners and running more races (I just signed up for the Staten Island Half next month), friends who are flying over to visit, a new roommate, a new joint design blog with my good friend Jimmy, jaunts over to Brooklyn for the sake of exploration and satisfying a growing curiosity, and stacks of books that I have yet to read. I am full of resolve to better myself however I can, to strike the balance of being more diligent than ever and yet getting myself out more. Bye-bye, idle hours on gchat.

DirtyBandits, a cool hand lettering and silkscreen studio that I was thinking of interning at before, made this cute ex-boyfriend poster series. Take something gloomy and make it sassy and bright! It’s a good motto, I think.
